My Teaching Philosophy
Everyone should have an opportunity to study music. At its core, studying music fosters creativity, discipline, and self-expression—abilities that enrich every aspect of life. I teach students of all ages and backgrounds; from young children to motivated adults. I believe students have the right to study the music that they enjoy and to develop their talents in specific areas of interest. Students will select their choice of appropriate repertoire and develop their interests, talents, and skills in different genres of music. Through focus on technique, repertoire, and theory, students will grow their understanding of the basics of music and how these concepts relate to their current repertoire.
